Wisconsin
expects significant growth in 2003! The
majority of employers polled by HRS anticipate hiring within the next 6
months, and most within the next 2. Most employers agree; overall economic
indicators need not dictate a single company’s performance. While mixed
forecasts continue to emerge, employers are determined to achieve growth
through aggressive pursuit of additional market share and
share of customer!
Recruitment
vs. Screening: Is it a Tradeoff?
As
tight labor market shifts to applicant surplus, we re-evaluate the complexities
in protecting human capital. Employers’ concern with candidate screening
re-emerges as top priority. Why settle for less than the most appropriate?
However, the greatest complaint of applicants is failure to be contacted. Good
candidates are taking breaks from the rejection, minimizing the effectiveness of
any single recruitment. HRS has validated this not only through substantial
direct feedback from applicants (via personal interview and AskHRS.com) but also
through comparison of paid media recruitment success vs. HRStrak© (search
engine) direct contact success. We’re
recommending a balance between postings and pre-qualified direct applicant
contact.
