Third Party HR Experts Best Manage Change/Risk in Mergers & Acquisitions

Our CEO delivered an opening address to 115 CEOs and business leaders at the MMAC/COSBE Executive Roundtable Forum, held at the University Club in Milwaukee, WI.  The forum's topic was "Business Growth through Acquisitions" featuring esteemed panelists George Dalton, Founder of NOVO 1 and Fiserv, Inc.; Scott Bushkie, President and Founder of Cornerstone Business Services; and Linda Mertz, President of Mertz Associates Inc.  Excerpts from that 2006 address follow.

We all know that people issues will make or break the M&A deal!  For those of you involved in a merger or acquisition, please be aware that HR consultants and outsource partners offer value that internal HR experts simply can't provide.  Some of the most popular roles include:   

  1. Deciding who will go and who will stay, and how individual roles are changed.

  2. Objectively building and structuring the new HR team.  Who reports to whom?
